Sangokushi II: Haou no Tairiku

Sangokushi II: Haou no Tairiku is a Three Kingdoms simulation SLG developed and published by Namco for Famicom/NES in 1992, sequel to Sangokushi: Chuugen no Hasha, and the most famous Three Kingdoms strategy game on FC. The single campaign starts in 189 AD during Dong Zhuo’s rebellion. Players select one of seven warlords including Cao Cao, Liu Bei and Sun Ce. Players develop city economy, recruit wild generals, raise armies, fight field battles and sieges, as well as general duels to unify China. It features general loyalty system, equipment, intrigue and ambush tactics, plus famous secrets like Iji’s transformation and Ahui Nan. The Waixing Chinese cartridge was hugely popular in China, and a PS remaster was released in 1998.
