About this game

Circus Charlie is an action stunt game created by Konami. It first launched in arcades in 1984, and was ported to Famicom in 1986 by Soft Pro. Players control the clown Charlie to complete six circus performances in sequence: riding a lion through flaming hoops, tightrope walking while dodging monkeys, jumping between giant rolling balls, horseback springboard hurdles, trapeze swinging and trampoline stunts. Each stage has a time limit, running out of time costs one life. Collect money bags along the route for bonus scores. After finishing all six events, the game loops with faster speed and higher difficulty. Controls only use directional keys and jump button, easy to learn but demanding precise timing. A mistimed jump causes an instant fall and lost life. It features cheerful and iconic chiptune music. This classic casual game is widely included in Famicom multi-game cartridges. It supports single-player and 2-player turn-based mode.

The NES was always two-player — 2P uses the numeric keypad, and NumLock does not matter. No numpad? Rebind 2P to other keys in the 🎮 panel.
