Onimusha Tactics
About this game
Onimusha Tactics is a turn-based tactical SRPG for Game Boy Advance, developed and published by Capcom, released in Japan on July 25, 2003. It is a spin-off title of the Onimusha franchise. Set in the Sengoku-era Genma fantasy universe with an original storyline, you play as Onimaru, a young warrior with Ogre blood. He gathers samurai, ninjas and shrine maidens to stop the Demon King Nobunaga from building his Genma empire. It uses grid-based tactical combat with height difference terrain rules. The signature soul absorption mechanic from Onimusha is retained: absorb souls from defeated Genma monsters and craft items or upgrade gear using Genma stones. Each character wields Ogre power and unique skills, plus four guardian beast skills: Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird and Black Tortoise. The main story consists of four chapters. After clearing the campaign, the 16-floor Genma Dimension unlocks with the secret character Oni Child. It features pixel art with Sengoku-style maps including castles, forests and caves, with built-in save function. A Chinese fan translation patch exists. It is a rare Sengoku dark fantasy strategy game on GBA.
