Mario Bros. Classic

Mario Bros. Classic is a re-released NES title from Nintendo’s Classic Series line, launched in Europe (Germany) in 1993. It is a revised edition based on the original 1983 arcade Mario Bros. A planned Japanese Famicom version was finished internally but canceled before release. The core gameplay stays unchanged. Players control plumbers Mario and Luigi inside single-screen sewer stages to defeat monsters coming out of pipes. Hit the underside of platforms to flip enemies over, then kick them before they recover. Flipped foes will turn red and speed up if left unattended. The central POW block flips all enemies on screen and can only be triggered three times. Enemies include Shellcreepers, Sidestepper crabs, Fighter Flies and Slipice, which freeze platforms. It supports simultaneous two-player mode for co-op or competitive play. Compared with standard NES release, Classic Series fixes several hit detection bugs for an experience closer to the arcade original. No extra stages are added; it is an optimized reissue rather than a full remake.

These are the default keys. Click the gamepad icon 🎮 in the player’s bottom toolbar to rebind them. Gamepads are detected automatically. On phones you get on-screen buttons.

The NES was always two-player — 2P uses the numeric keypad, and NumLock does not matter. No numpad? Rebind 2P to other keys in the 🎮 panel.
