Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
About this game
Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade (FE6) is a tactical RPG developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo, released for Game Boy Advance in 2002. It is the sixth mainline entry in Fire Emblem series and the first Fire Emblem game on GBA. Set on the continent of Elibe, after the ancient war between humans and dragons, King Zephiel of Bern plans to revive dragons and conquer Elibe, launching an invasion against Lycian League. Roy, young lord of Pherae, takes command of the army in place of his sick father. He gathers allies, collects the Eight Divine Weapons and stops Zephiel and the dark witch Idunn. It uses classic grid turn-based tactical combat, featuring iconic Fire Emblem mechanics: permadeath, weapon triangle system, weapon durability, class promotion and support conversations. It simplified complicated mechanics from previous games to be more accessible. Originally released only in Japan, it later gained worldwide popularity through fan translations. It supports GBA link cable multiplayer for up to 4 players. With polished pixel graphics and memorable soundtrack, Roy became famous overseas from Super Smash Bros. Melee, paving the way for the international release of Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. It is the first title of the famous GBA Fire Emblem trilogy.
