Final Fantasy VI Advance

About this game

Final Fantasy VI Advance is the enhanced GBA port developed by Tose and published by Square Enix in 2006. Its original SNES release is widely regarded as one of the best JRPGs ever made, famous for its ensemble cast storytelling. Set in a steampunk-fantasy world after the fall of ancient Magitek civilization, the Gestahlian Empire seizes magicite to fuel Magitek armor. A large cast including Terra, Locke and Celes join the Returners resistance to stop the chaotic villain Kefka. The story is split into the World of Balance and the devastated World of Ruin, featuring iconic scenes such as the opera sequence and world apocalypse. It uses the ATB battle system and magicite system; characters learn spells and stat bonuses by equipping magicite, with unique personal skills for every playable character. This GBA port adds four new Esper summons: Cactuar, Leviathan, Gilgamesh and Diabolos, plus new spells including Flood, Valor and Gravija. Two bonus dungeons, Dragon’s Den and Soul Shrine, contain superbosses Kaiser Dragon and Omega Weapon. It features revised, more faithful English script, monster bestiary, sound test and quicksave. It also adds a permanent run ability without relic requirement. As the final entry of the FF Advance GBA series, it contains the most extra content among early FF6 ports.
