Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls
About this game
Final Fantasy I & II Advance (known overseas as Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls) is a JRPG compilation released for Game Boy Advance in 2004, developed by Tose and published by Square Enix. It includes enhanced remakes of the original Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy II from Famicom. Final Fantasy I follows four Warriors of Light on a quest to restore four elemental crystals corrupted by darkness, with turn-based battles, class selection and EXP level-up. This GBA version adds four bonus "Soul of Chaos" dungeons featuring bosses from FF3 to FF6, plus quick save, dash and MP-based magic system. Final Fantasy II’s story centers on four youths fighting against the Palamecian Empire. It uses a unique usage-based stat growth system instead of standard levels, alongside the keyword dialogue mechanic. A full post-game campaign "Soul of Rebirth" is added, starring characters who died in the main story. The compilation also features unified interface, monster encyclopedia and music player. It is one of the best portable remakes of these classic FF titles.
