About this game

Double Dragon II - The Revenge is a side-scrolling arcade beat 'em up developed and published by Technos Japan in 1988, the official sequel to the original Double Dragon. The story begins when Marian is shot by the leader of the Black Warriors gang. Brothers Billy Lee and Jimmy Lee set out on a journey of vengeance to hunt down the gang members. The control scheme was redesigned with left and right attack buttons, and added the famous Hurricane Kick. Players can still pick up weapons including whips, knives and dynamite. The game features four missions: heliport, lumber warehouse, wheat field and gang hideout, each with its own boss. At the final stage, players will fight against their own shadow clone. It comes with improved pixel graphics, fluid animations and iconic soundtrack. The arcade version differs greatly from the later NES port, and it was ported to many home consoles later, regarded as a landmark sequel of beat 'em up arcade games in the 1980s.

Controls

These are the default keys. Every arcade board has a different number of buttons and means different things by them. The rows above are buttons 1–6 on the board: on Neo Geo boards (The King of Fighters and friends) A/B/C/D are buttons 1–4, Metal Slug uses only 1, 2 and 4 (shoot / jump / grenade), and Pac-Man uses none at all. Six-button fighters with three punches and three kicks (Street Fighter II and the like) get a different layout from the core: light punch U, medium punch I, heavy punch Q, light kick J, medium kick K, heavy kick E. Click the gamepad icon 🎮 in the player toolbar, then “Remap keys” to open the emulator’s own control settings (keyboard and gamepad, saved automatically). Gamepads are detected automatically. On phones you get on-screen buttons.
