Choujikuu Yousai Macross
About this game
Choujikuu Yousai Macross is a side-scrolling shooter developed by Namco and published by Bandai, released for Famicom (NES) on December 10, 1985, adapted from the classic sci-fi anime *Super Dimension Fortress Macross*. Piloting the VF-1 Valkyrie, players can switch freely between three combat forms: Fighter, Gerwalk and Battroid. Fighter mode features fast forward movement for space combat. Gerwalk mode offers flexible multi-directional shooting. Battroid robot mode can jump for platform battles inside enemy warships. Your mission is to infiltrate Zentradi capital ships and destroy their reactor cores before time runs out. Its soundtrack contains the famous 8-bit version of the anime song *Shao Pai Long*. The game uses a single looping stage; difficulty increases after each successful run. Pickups grant extra lives, shields and homing missiles. It is one of the iconic anime licensed shooting games for the Famicom.
