Submachine 9: The Temple

Submachine 9: The Temple is a Flash point-and-click puzzle browser game created by Polish indie developer Mateusz Skutnik, released on March 14, 2014. It is the ninth installment of the Submachine series. Following the events of Submachine 8: The Plan, the player arrives at a massive temple ruin left by an ancient civilization. This place is a special knot within the Subnet where multiple reality layers converge. It keeps the layer-shifting mechanic and introduces karmic water. Switching layers will not alter the whole layout of the scene, only partial objects and mechanisms inside the room change. Navigate temple halls, secret chambers and underground corridors with mouse clicks. Collect inventory items such as hammer, containers and ancient relics. Operate old altars, energy fountains and symbol cipher devices to solve cross-layer puzzles. Read stone inscriptions to keep uncovering the ultimate plan of Murtaugh and Elizabeth. It retains the signature hand-sketched art style, with grand yet lonely sci-fi fantasy atmosphere. The huge and intricate map contains many hidden secret collectibles. It lays the groundwork for the series finale and was remastered into Submachine: Legacy collection.
