Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers
About this game
Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers is an arcade fighting game developed and published by Capcom in 1993, running on the CPS1 arcade board. It is the fourth official revision in the Street Fighter II series. Building upon Street Fighter II Turbo, the game adds four brand-new fighters: Cammy, Fei Long, Dee Jay and T. Hawk, expanding the playable roster from 12 to 16 characters. It retains the six-button fighting system and all special moves of existing characters. Capcom rebalanced the entire roster by adjusting move frames, hitboxes and damage values. Visual presentation received major upgrades including new character portraits, stages, colour palettes and intro animations alongside remade sound effects. The game added victory quotes, unique endings and a tournament scoring system. This release brought a large-scale content expansion to the Street Fighter II franchise. The 16-character roster remains a classic lineup for many fans. It was followed by Super Street Fighter II Turbo and ported to multiple home consoles, standing as a landmark 2D arcade fighting title of the 1990s.

Controls
These are the default keys. Every arcade board has a different number of buttons and means different things by them. The rows above are buttons 1–6 on the board: on Neo Geo boards (The King of Fighters and friends) A/B/C/D are buttons 1–4, Metal Slug uses only 1, 2 and 4 (shoot / jump / grenade), and Pac-Man uses none at all. Six-button fighters with three punches and three kicks (Street Fighter II and the like) get a different layout from the core: light punch U, medium punch I, heavy punch Q, light kick J, medium kick K, heavy kick E. Click the gamepad icon 🎮 in the player toolbar, then “Remap keys” to open the emulator’s own control settings (keyboard and gamepad, saved automatically). Gamepads are detected automatically. On phones you get on-screen buttons.
