About this game

Asphalt: Urban GT 3D is Gameloft’s hardware‑accelerated 3D arcade racer released February 2005 for J2ME. It is the enhanced 3D‑only variant of the original Asphalt: Urban GT, exclusive to high‑end Java feature phones with 3D hardware support; low‑end handsets could only run the separate 2D edition. It is one of the earliest polygonal 3D racing titles for Java mobile devices. Players earn nitro boost via drifting, airborne stunts and rival takedowns. Police pursuit system had not been implemented in this first‑series entry, focusing purely on underground street races. Prize money from championship events unlocks over ten officially‑licensed sports cars including Audi, Dodge Viper and Lamborghini, with basic performance tuning available. Nine real‑world city circuits such as Paris, New York, London and Tokyo are included, with barrier collision physics. Keypad controls and Bluetooth local multiplayer are supported. Fan‑made Chinese JAR builds circulated domestically and are playable via Java emulators, marking a pioneering milestone for 3D racing on feature phones.
