Cube Escape: The Mill (short name CubeTheMillSL) is a point-and-click escape puzzle game created by Dutch studio Rusty Lake. It is the sixth entry of the Cube Escape series, released on September 1, 2015. It was first released as a free web browser game and later ported to mobile platforms. The story takes place in 1972. Players control Mr. Crow inside a windmill mill by Rusty Lake, a secret place for extracting memory cubes. Explore multiple floors including living room, attic and basement. Collect items, cook meals, repair the mysterious memory machine, extract Laura’s memories and produce white and black memory cubes. It features interconnected puzzles about clocks, telescopes, livestock and food preparation, revealing core lore including Laura’s death, memory transformation and the origin of shadow figures. It keeps the series dark hand-drawn art style and eerie atmosphere with mouse point-and-click controls, serving as a key connecting chapter of the Rusty Lake universe.
