Cube Escape: Birthday is a point-and-click escape puzzle game developed by Dutch studio Rusty Lake. It is the seventh installment of the Cube Escape series, released on February 15, 2016. It originally launched as a free web game and later ported to Android and iOS. Set in winter 1939, players take the role of detective Dale Vandermeer and travel back into the memory of his ninth birthday. The warm family birthday party turns into a tragedy when Mr. Rabbit breaks in. Players explore a single room, collect and combine items, solve connected puzzles involving records, snow globes and mousetraps, trying to alter this painful memory and save his family. This entry is critical to Dale’s personal storyline and connects the plots of Case 23 and The Mill. It keeps the series signature hand-drawn dark art style and vintage soundtrack with suspense horror atmosphere. Controlled fully by mouse clicks, it includes hidden achievements and is an essential part of the Rusty Lake main universe.
