Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising

Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising is a turn-based tactical game for Game Boy Advance, developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo, released in 2003 as the second main entry of the Advance Wars series. Continuing the story of the first game, the Black Hole Army regroups and launches a full-scale invasion across Macro Land under the command of Sturm. The four allied nations Orange Star, Blue Moon, Yellow Comet and Green Earth unite to fight back. It retains the grid-based turn combat system with full land, sea and air units including infantry, tanks, fighters and warships. Every commanding officer (CO) has a unique super power that grants massive combat bonuses once charged. This sequel adds four new Black Hole COs and massive map weapons such as Black Cannons and Mini Cannons. The campaign features non-linear mission selection, and a harder Hard Campaign unlocks after clearing the main story. Besides single-player mode, it supports GBA link cable multiplayer skirmishes and a custom map editor. With cartoon pixel graphics and deep tactical gameplay, it is an iconic classic strategy title on GBA, later remade in Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp for Nintendo Switch.
