About this game

Warcraft: Orcs & Humans is the original fantasy real‑time strategy game developed by Blizzard Entertainment, released for MS‑DOS in November 1994, the very first entry in the legendary Warcraft franchise. This vintage DOS RTS tells the story of the First Great War, as Orcish Horde invades Azeroth through the Dark Portal and the Human Kingdom fights for survival. The DOS‑only original Warcraft established core RTS loops of gold and lumber resource gathering, base construction and unit production. It contains two full separate single‑player campaigns with 12 missions for Humans and Orcs respectively, plus multiplayer versus mode and plenty of custom battle maps. Hardware limits allowed selecting up to four units at once, and it featured a unique road‑building system not reused in later sequels. With iconic VGA pixel graphics and fantasy unit & spell mechanics, Warcraft 1 DOS laid the foundation for Warcraft II, Warcraft III and the whole Warcraft universe, a must‑play retro DOS game for classic strategy fans.
