Houkago Shounen
About this game
Houkago Shounen, known in Chinese as 放学后少年,is a nostalgic life adventure game released by Konami for Nintendo DS in 2008. Set in a rural Japanese town in the early Showa 50s, you play as a 6th-grade elementary student who will move away in one month. Explore freely between school dismissal and sunset, wandering around the village, riverside, park, candy shop and secret base. Hang out with friends and enjoy classic childhood minigames including stone skipping, eraser racing, horizontal bar training, coin pusher and graffiti. There is no combat. The core gameplay is casual exploration, item collecting and bonding with pals. It faithfully recreates Showa-era countryside scenery and nostalgic background music. Your goal is to make precious memories within the remaining 30 days before departure. Released only in Japan, it is often regarded as the NDS counterpart of Boku no Natsuyasumi, a highly acclaimed warm nostalgic title on Nintendo DS.
