Street Fighter Alpha 3

Street Fighter Alpha 3 (released in Japan as Street Fighter Zero 3, widely known as Street Fighter Zero 3 or SFA3) is a 2D arcade fighting game developed and published by Capcom in 1998, running on the CPS2 arcade board. It is the final chapter of the Street Fighter Alpha trilogy. Its timeline is set between the original Street Fighter and Street Fighter II, depicting conflicts between M.Bison’s Shadaloo army and fighters around the world. Its most innovative feature is the three selectable fighting styles called ISM. A-ism follows the classic Alpha rules with a 3-level super gauge; V-ism focuses on custom Original Combos without standard super moves; X-ism delivers high damage with a single-level super gauge, removing air block and Alpha Counter. The arcade release features 25 playable fighters, introducing Karin, R. Mika and Cody. E.Honda, Blanka and the four Shadaloo bosses join the Alpha roster. Secret characters include Shin Akuma and Evil Ryu. It retains air blocking, Alpha Counter and tech rolls. Many fighters gained brand-new special moves. The sprite animation and vibrant visuals are among the best on CPS2 hardware. An enhanced version Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper was released later. The PlayStation port added the exclusive World Tour character growth mode and expanded roster. The game was ported to PS, Dreamcast, GBA and PSP. The PSP version is titled Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX. Boasting a huge roster and versatile gameplay, Street Fighter Alpha 3 is one of the most beloved classic 2D fighting games and was included in Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection.
