Theme Hospital

Theme Hospital for PS1 is a humorous hospital business simulation game. Originally created by Bullfrog Productions, the PlayStation port was handled by Krisalis Software and published by Electronic Arts in 1998, serving as the successor to Theme Park. Players act as the administrator of a private hospital, designing room layouts from scratch. Build GP offices, X-ray rooms, pharmacies, operating theatres and other facilities, hire and train doctors, nurses, handymen and receptionists while managing staff morale, salaries and budgets. The game features many funny fictional illnesses including Bloaty Head, Slack Tongue and Invisibility, each requiring dedicated diagnosis and treatment equipment. Players must handle outbreaks, emergency arrivals, broken machines and rival hospitals. Complete 12 levels by meeting targets of cured patients, reputation and finance. The PS1 version is adapted for controller input with graphics based on PC release, though some sound effects and background music are cut down. It supports multiple languages and stands out as one of the rare simulation management titles on PlayStation 1.
