StarCraft

StarCraft is a classic sci-fi real-time strategy game developed by Blizzard Entertainment, released for Windows on March 31, 1998, with the Brood War expansion launched in the same year. Set in the Koprulu Sector of the Milky Way in the 26th century, it depicts interstellar wars between three fully asymmetrical factions. Terrans are exiled human colonists good at static defense and mobile strikes. Zerg is a hive-mind swarm creature race relying on rapid expansion and mass units. Protoss is an ancient psionic civilization with powerful but costly individual warriors. Core gameplay: mine minerals and vespene gas, build bases, research technologies, produce armies and destroy all enemy buildings to win. It features three separate single-player campaigns with epic stories of Jim Raynor, Kerrigan and Tassadar. Multiplayer matches have extraordinary tactical depth and racial balance, creating one of the world’s earliest professional esports scenes, especially popular in South Korea. The bundled map editor supports custom maps including tower defense and RPG mods. StarCraft: Remastered came out in 2017 with 4K upgraded visuals while preserving all original gameplay mechanics.
