Pokémon Gold is the Generation‑2 Pokémon RPG developed by Game Freak, released 1999 for Game Boy Color and fully compatible with GBA hardware. Set across the Johto region, you begin your journey from New Bark Town and pick one starter among Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile. It adds 100 new Pokémon species, introducing day‑night cycle, Pokémon egg‑hatching and held‑item mechanics. After earning all eight Johto gym badges, you unlock the Kanto region from Generation‑1 and challenge its full gym lineup. Battle remnants of Team Rocket and hunt the legendary Ho‑Oh. Trade and battle via link‑cable; certain Pokémon are version‑exclusive compared to Pokémon Silver. Boasting dual‑region gameplay, it remains one of the most beloved vintage Pokémon titles playable on GBA consoles。

These are the default keys. Click the gamepad icon 🎮 in the player toolbar, then “Remap keys” to open the emulator’s own control settings (keyboard and gamepad, saved automatically). Gamepads are detected automatically. On phones you get on-screen buttons.
