Cube Escape: The Cave is a point-and-click puzzle adventure game developed by Dutch studio Rusty Lake, released on March 23, 2017. It is the ninth installment of the Cube Escape series and a vital chapter in the Rusty Lake universe, originally available on web, Android and iOS. Players control Mr. Crow to venture deep into a mysterious cave, explore a bathyscaphe, rescue a trapped diver, uncover secrets of the Vanderboom family and descend into the depths of Rusty Lake. The game uses classic mouse point-and-click interaction, collect and combine items, solve environmental puzzles and uncover story threads connecting many characters across the Rusty Lake universe. It retains the series’ signature hand-drawn dark fairy-tale art style and eerie atmosphere. This entry introduced the hint system for the first time, with chained puzzles and hidden achievements. Its story continues from Rusty Lake: Roots and is essential for players to understand the main lore of Rusty Lake.
