Street Fighter: The Movie

Street Fighter: The Movie is a live-action digitized fighting game released in 1995. The arcade version was developed by Incredible Technologies and published by Capcom. It is adapted from the 1994 live-action Street Fighter movie starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. The game uses digitized sprites filmed from real movie actors in a style similar to Mortal Kombat. There are 14 playable fighters including Guile, Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Cammy, M.Bison, Sagat and the original character Sawada. The arcade release retains the classic six-button control layout and traditional special moves such as Hadouken and Shoryuken alongside a super combo gauge. It introduced unique mechanics: Comeback Moves that can only be activated at low health, and Regen Moves which consume gauge to restore health. Compared with Street Fighter II, it prioritizes air juggles and allows special move cancels into other specials, plus brand-new exclusive moves for many characters. It is important to note that the PlayStation and Sega Saturn home console game sharing the same title is **not a port**, but a separately developed title. Despite the famous Street Fighter license and movie tie-in, the stiff character animations received mixed reviews on release. It stands as a highly unique spin-off entry in the Street Fighter franchise and is a rare, niche title among retro arcade fighting collectors.
