Samsara Room

Samsara Room is a point‑and‑click escape puzzle Flash game created by Rusty Lake, released September 2013 for web browser and published on Newgrounds and Kongregate. It is the original prototype and prequel of the entire Rusty Lake & Cube Escape universe. Players wake trapped inside a surreal locked room with an old telephone, grandfather clock and mysterious items. Explore scenes, collect and combine objects to solve surreal puzzles. The core mechanic is transmigration of souls: the protagonist cycles through multiple life forms including shadow human, fish, lizard, insect, egg and infant, while the room transforms with each reincarnation. It uses hand‑drawn eerie art style and atmospheric sound design, introducing iconic Rusty Lake elements such as the Black Figure and altar, laying foundation for all later Cube Escape and Rusty Lake titles. The original Flash version was released in English. After Adobe Flash discontinued, a full remake launched in 2020. The original Flash build can be played with Flash emulators, regarded as a landmark psychological horror escape game of Flash era.
