Doom II: Hell on Earth

DOOM II: Hell on Earth is the official sequel to DOOM, developed by id Software and released for MS‑DOS in September 1994. Built on the proven id Tech 1 engine, it was sold as full retail software instead of shareware distribution used by the original DOOM. Picking up right after the events of DOOM, the iconic Doomguy returns from Mars only to discover Earth has been overrun by demonic forces. Your mission is to fight through demon‑ruined cities, secure the spaceport for human survivors to escape into space, and venture deep into Hell to destroy the Icon of Sin and end the invasion once and for all. The DOS‑version features 32 total maps: 30 main campaign levels plus 2 secret levels with bigger, more intricate level designs. It introduced the devastating Super Shotgun, alongside brand‑new enemies including Revenant, Hell Knight and Arch‑Vile that drastically raise combat intensity. It retains all classic weapons, automap, secret‑hunting mechanics, LAN deathmatch and co‑op multiplayer modes. It inherited DOOM’s massive WAD modding community with countless custom user‑made levels. The official expansion *Master Levels for Doom II* added another 21 premium maps. Boasting fast brutal gunplay, heavy‑metal soundtrack and dark industrial‑hell visuals, DOOM II DOS remains one of the most celebrated vintage FPS titles of the MS‑DOS era.
